FAQ
Am I eligible to apply for a partner visa? The main requirements that you need to comply with are the following, if you do we can gladly assist you with the process!
- Your partner must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Your partner must not have a criminal record
- Your partner must not have previously applied for these visas as an applicant (unless it has been more than 5 years)
- Your partner should not have sponsored someone for this visa more than once previously (and if only once at least 5 years ago)
- You must not have a criminal record
- You must meet health requirements (not have serious health problems)
- You must live together for at least 12 months or register the relationship or get married
- Your relationship must be genuine and ongoing (you basically need to live together).
For this option you can apply once you meet the requirements regardless of whether you have finished your course or whether your visa is close to expiring.
Can I move from a student visa to a tourist visa?
You can make this change as long as you don’t have the No Further Stay Condition in your current visa. You need to take into consideration that you need to show that you have sufficient funds to cover your stay and that you won’t be able to work.
